Patrick Hannon attended a Federal Highway Administration 2 day training course on designing for pedestrian safety on June 13th and 14th at the Hill Farms State Transportation Building in Madison, WI. The course covered topics ranging from proper design of street crossing, intersection geometry and signaling to navigation of roundabouts, interchanges and transit stations. The course was a combination of classroom format and field exercises where participants observed existing conditions on several local streets and made recommendations for possible improvements to enhance pedestrian safety.
