John Lichtenheld has extensive experience in transportation, civil engineering, and land use planning. A former municipal engineer for the City of Middleton, WI, and Sandy, OR, John has coordinated numerous planning and design projects in Wisconsin, Illinois, Oregon, and Washington since 1976. Landscape Designer, Ecologist

Caitlin has been practicing design since 2011. Throughout her education and career she has developed designs which utilize native plants and their cultivars to create inviting and attractive public spaces.

She enjoys working on a wide variety of projects, ranging from site-scale concept design to large scale ecological restoration and sustainability frameworks.  Caitlin is also a field ecologist with experience in ecosystem monitoring and restoration, specializing in wetland and stream ecosystems. As such she is particularly interested in finding ways to reintroduce elements of the natural environment to the urban landscape, always striving to harmonize ecology, infrastructure, and community in her design solutions.

Caitlin is also a skilled illustrator with extensive experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign as well as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and SketchUp. She enjoys using these skills to bring design to life at every stage of its development; from initial concept sketches all the way to construction detailing.

Landscape Architect, Ecosystems Services Specialist

Jacob has been changing how design is done for the last 14 years. A national leader in the emerging fields of Ecosystem Services Management and Ecological Design; he is a classically trained landscape architect and field ecologist. He has coauthored papers and textbooks exploring the nexus of design and ecological science and has participated in and led ecologically-based design projects throughout the United States, India, Peru, and Chile. Using a subtractive rather than an additive design approach, he evaluates the historical and potential ecological communities of a site and then carves out the design program to ensure the maximum ecosystem services can be provided.
